You can open City Deals by scanning the QR codes on the paper magazine with your phone camera. You do not need to download a City Deals app. Just point your camera at the code and tap the link that appears.
How to scan the codes
Every ad in the magazine has two different codes. You use your phone to see more about the business. It is fast and works on most modern smartphones. Follow these steps to see the content on your screen.
- Open your camera
Turn on your phone and open the normal camera app.
- Aim at the code
Hold the phone over the VIDEO or DEAL code on the page.
- Tap the link
A small yellow or white box will pop up. Tap it to open your web browser.
What the two codes do
The VIDEO code opens a short 30-second video. This helps you see the inside of the shop or meet the owner. The DEAL code shows you the current offer. You will also see buttons to call the business or open a map for directions.
Where to find the magazine
We mail the magazine to homes in Kendall, Westchester, and Miami Lakes. About 10,000 homes is the number we advertise for each area. If you do not live in these areas, you can contact us to ask where we might mail next.
- Make sure your phone has an internet connection.
- Check that your camera lens is clean.
- Hold the magazine flat on a table or counter.
- Ensure there is enough light in the room.
Using your deals

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to pay for a City Deals app?
No. There is no City Deals app available to download yet. You use your phone camera for free.
What if my camera does not scan the code?
Make sure your phone software is updated. Some older phones might need a free QR scanner from the app store, and most newer phones open codes with the camera app.
Can I use the deals more than once?
Each business has its own rules. You should ask the shop owner when you show them the deal on your phone.
